oh the poor potatoes!

my lovely purple potatoes were growing so well, all green and full and then, they started dropping off like flies. i only have one little green plant left. and they are covered with aphids. so, i dug up the dead plants, harvested the tiny potatoes and collected ladybugs with the help of some small and very interested humans. then i replanted the potatoes i got, watered everything really really well, deposited 10 live ladybugs, and now i'm waiting and watching. the ladybugs are great though. they tucked right in to dinner, munching along the dying infested stocks, and today (that was yesterday) there are only aphids on one plant. the rest are aphid free! yay!
